Supreme Courts Oder’s to give full protection to Suarngi Sandmali, wife of late Sugath NIshantha and two children

On the 10th of November 2008 the Supreme Courts ordered Deputy Inspector General of Police, Western Province, to arrange full protection to Surangi Sandmali wife of late Sugath Nishantha who was gunned down on the 20th of September 2008 and two children.

The Supreme Court ,after considering a motion filed by Sandamali requesting protection for her and the two children from the threatening coming from the Officers of the Negombo Police Station, an order was given to Deputy Inspector General of Police Western Province to give to give full protection to her and her children’s safety . At present she has closed down her house at Negombo and is staying in a secret place for her and her children’s safety.

Sandamali in her motion has mentioned the names of Police Inspector Bandara, Police Inspector Silva, Sub Inspector Abeynayake, Sub Inspector Rohan, Police Constable Leelasena, Senior Police Superintendent Pramasiri Vithanage, and Police Superintendent Adhikari as respondents.
