Addassuriyage Don Anil Shyama,14 year old school boy from Pattaduwana,Minuwangoda, taken into custody ,kept in the Police Station for four days tortured and fabricated charges .
This boy’s father is a labourer, and his mother has left them. On the night of 1st March 2008, Minuwnagoda Police ,arrested Anil,tortured into confessing to a robbery which he has denied ,kept him for three days and on the 4th March ,he has been produced at Minuwangoda Magistrates Courts, under false charges.
Magistrate has examined the condition of the boy and has ordered to take the boy to Lady Ridgeway Hospital immediately . Since the boy is over 12years, he has been transferred from Lady Ridgeway to National Hospital,Colombo.
According to the boy Police Officer Somajith has beaten him with a wooden plank and another officer who always chews betel,fat and black in colour slapped him on the ear scolding in filth..both of them attached to Minuwangoda Police Station. Due to this torture his ear is in constant pain and short of hearing.too.. Boy has fainted twice. Minuwangoda Police fabricated a false case for robbing Jewellery,T.V. and a radio. The Magistrate bailed him out on a personal bond.
