The Right to Life Human Rights Centre launched its Foundation Certificate Course for Strengthening the Functionality of Human Rights First Aid Centers on September 25, 2024. The initiative aims to enhance the capacity and knowledge of human rights activists across the country by providing practical insights into the legal framework and human rights field in Sri Lanka.
A total of 72 participants enrolled in the program, which has been conducted entirely online. The course covers both historical aspects and contemporary legal frameworks, ensuring that participants gain a well-rounded understanding of human rights advocacy.
As part of the learning process, an online examination was held at the conclusion of the initial modules to assess participants’ understanding. The program is now in its final phase and is set to conclude by the third week of February 2025. A final examination will be conducted at the end of the course, and those who successfully pass will be awarded a valuable certificate recognizing their achievement.
This course plays a vital role in strengthening the Human Rights First Aid Network in Sri Lanka by equipping activists with the necessary legal and practical knowledge to support and protect human rights more effectively.
