The Right to Life Human Rights Center has taken significant strides towards enhancing human rights advocacy and support by announcing the launch of Human Rights First Aid Centers in the Jaffna and Mannar districts.
These centers, integral components of the Right to Life Human Rights Center’s network, have already been active across several districts of the island. The recent establishment of the Jaffna and Mannar Human Rights First Aid Centers serves to further fortify this network.
The inauguration ceremony of the Jaffna District Human Rights First Aid Center occurred last Saturday, the 17th, with notable figures such as Philip Dissanayake, Executive Director of the Right to Life Human Rights Center, R Kanagaraj from the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission Jaffna Office, and Sukirtharaj, Chairman of the Jaffna District NGO Network, gracing the event. Rakulan, Chairman of the Save a Life organization, has been appointed as the coordinator for the Jaffna District Human Rights First Aid Center.
Likewise, on the 18th, a Human Rights First Aid Center was established in the Mannar district. Philip Dissanayake, Executive Director of the Right to Life Human Rights Center, and Reverend Father Marcus, leader of the Mannar Citizens Committee, were among the notable attendees at the event.
These newly established centers underscore a firm commitment to advancing and protecting human rights in the Jaffna and Mannar regions, offering essential support and advocacy for those in vulnerable situations.
